| okay... i haven't posted in seven months. i've pretty much moved exclusively over to facebook and myspace, for better or for worse. i do miss writing though. maybe i'll start using xanga again too. that'll be just swell, spending three hours a day obsessively checking up on my three different social networking sites. heh. sorry to anyone who missed my posts or my comments. | | |
| Hi again. Thanks for all the comments and so forth.
I feel obliged to write a new post but nothing meaningful is coming to mind, etc. Good egg.
| Good day to you, sir or madam.
I'm tired, so don't expect this to be long. I've been moving stuff into my new home, and now I don't know what to do with myself. I know I will probably get over this terrible empty feeling in a few days, but it doesn't make it feel any better presently. I'll be glad when I start working and our band starts practicing more. Then I will at least have some substantial things to do. It's funny, I feel like I miss everybody. I even miss people that I am seeing on a daily basis. I probably even miss myself. Whatever that could mean, I don't know. I will try to write a more coherent and interesting post sometime in the future, but this will have to do for now. I love you and goodbye.
| Everybody asked about Lady in the Water, but I honestly don't feel like talking about it right now. Oh well. It was a good movie. Not brilliant, but good. However, if you go into the theater with expectations of seeing anything like most of the other big-budget films out there, you will find yourself befuddled and unfulfilled. Lady in the Water feels like a film that should have been directed by some no-name independent film maker on a tight budget rather than a big shot Hollywood director, but thankfully (or unfortunately, for some), this doesn't stop M. Night Shyamalan for nary a moment.
More than anything, Lady in the Water is a comedy. You heard me right. If you think you are going to see a thriller or a horror movie then you will be sadly let down. While there are a couple of scary moments, I laughed more often than anything throughout the film. Lady in the Water is a story about stories. It is a fairytale about telling fairytales. It is a commentary on our post-modern skepticism and critical nature; it asks why such qualities as faith, hope, and belief in a higher power, have become scorned and disassociated with "real life." All the while, Shyamalan takes himself very lightly. The entire premise of the movie seems silly and absurd, and that is the way he intended it. He invites the audience also to stop taking themselves so seriously, and, if just for a moment, step out of their reality and into another world filled with silly creatures with funny names - narfs, scrunts, and all the sort. Rating: 6.5 out of 10, for an entertaining and intelligent story, though it takes some effort from the viewer to fully enjoy.
So, today has been interesting. I lost all my saved data within my web browser, Firefox. All my bookmarks, personal settings, saved data, etc. are gone. This includes several pages that were related to my research paper, and I really don't feel like going back to search through the web and find them. Well, I really should cease this entry and get back to my school, so farewell for now.

| I feel within my heart that some poetry is due, but all throughout my darkened mind The words sit like a stew.
They're stagnant and unreachable, They have nowhere to go. No matter how I try to think They simply will not flow.
So I'll sit and talk about The trouble that I find in making words come alive within my darkened mind.
